More Students Commit to Full Time Ministry
Youth Pastor, Trevor Fricke introduces the SDCC family to Josh and Michella at a recent Sunday service. They join fellow student leader, Gavin, in taking a pledge to work in full time ministry when they complete school!
Their brave acceptance of God’s calling on their lives is a reason for celebration and a calling to prayer for these students. It comes at a time when Christian College enrollment is declining and there is a marked shortage of pastoral candidates to fill positions in American churches.
The SDCC Worship Team is Growing
Wowza! Have we got some talented people serving The Lord in our Worship Arts Ministries – and more joining all the time! From the musicians, camera operators, computer, sound & light techs and live streamers to the fantastic singers; we are turning up the heat and bringing praises to God in our worship times.
It’s so great to see such an eclectic group serving. We have students who serve on Sunday morning as well as at Youth Service Sunday evening, not to mention the wide range of talent from our seniors and every age and dynamic in between!
If God has gifted you with any of these talents and if this sounds like a team that you would like to serve with, just reach out to our Worship Pastor, Scott Gannon at Scott@sdccfl.org for more info!
A Wonderful Time to Express Gratitude
It seems like more and more, we just skip right over the Thanksgiving holiday and move right into Christmas as soon as Halloween is over – and sometimes even before! But, let’s slow the roll just a bit and consider what taking time for this holiday can mean in our lives.
An attitude of gratefulness can bring peace and contentment into this hurried season. Saying thank you to the people in our lives that bless us, to those that serve us and all who are kind in an increasingly hostile world, will not only bring a smile to them but create a joy in our own souls.
Now, let us turn our focus to our Creator, the God of the universe, the King of Kings, our Lord and Savior. Just thinking about all the reasons to thank Him should cause our hearts to shout with praise! How many things could you list that you’re thankful for this year? Even if it’s been a tough one, there are always blessings and bright hope for tomorrow. Sometimes things are out of our control, but we always have a choice as to our response and attitude. Choose thankfulness!
Let’s celebrate and be grateful together on Thanksgiving Eve. Everyone is welcome!
